Dinner Was Delicious... What Was It?
Editorial -- JasonI had a great time at Dinner the other night. I was surprised you wanted to cook for me... but I was even more surprised at what we actually ate. The meat (if that's what it was) was indistinguishable, partially due to the generous helping of indeterminate viscous liquid poured over it (I guess it was gravy, but who knows...). The texture should have provided some clue. It was definitely chewy, though here and there I came across some gelatinous bits which, though confusing, added bursts of flavor. The vegetable side dish tasted fantastic with the glob of margarine I put on it... and the half shaker of salt I sprinkled on top (at least it looked like salt). The wine was exquisite... it tasted just like grape juice... or some other liquid refreshment that has sat out for a long period of time. After dinner we sat at the table full of the mysterious main course and ate the desert you so thanklessly baked. I enjoyed the fruit filling... was that fig I tasted? Oh, sorry, I meant cherry... that's what it was, of course.
Well, whatever we ate... it was delicious... next time I'll cook dinner... courtesy of Chef Boyardee.
