Animated Organs Teach Children Healthy LessonsBoston, MAWith America's children becoming more and more obese than generations past, the American Health Council has developed a new campaign focusing on child health. "Children seem to respond well to cartoon characters so we made up some of our own" said Dr. Sheldon Warren of the Health Council. "We feel that these new characters will be more popular than the Tele-Tubbies or Actionman." Harold Heart teaches kids about exercise and healthy attitudes. "Hey kids! Don't snort Cocaine or you'll make me dance wildly. Also, don't eat too much hot sauce or I'll burn my neighbors. Mama Mia, I stopped beating! Calla the doctor!"
Carl Colon teaches kids about proper fiber intake. "Bran is a great source of fiber and the more you eat, the better you'll feel. Plus, bran moves through me so quick it tickles... tee hee." Other characters have catchy one-liners that are sure to keep children excited about good health such as Sammy Stomach's "I don't feel so good" and Ethan Esophagus' "That chip you swallowed was too big!" The Health Council's hope is that these catch phrases become as popular as Bart Simpson's "Don't have a cow, man" and Homer Simpson's "Doh!"
"It's all a matter of time before children want Harold Heart and Larry Liver action figures"
said Warren. "We anticipate this new group of characters will truly be the next big... radical
thing, but don't worry, Ethan Esophagus won't let America's Children swallow any of the action figure parts."
