Kite Enthusiast Gives Female Names to his Kites

"Lisa's a free spirit!" said Chip Henderson, brimming with admiration, "She's feelin' frisky today..." He was speaking, of course, of his kite, whom he named after a co-worker he has a crush on. Henderson's obsession with kites has been labeled as bizarre. It appears that he gives his kites female names and talks to them while flying them. "Beverly is light and delicate. She will only fly when the sky is clear and the sun is shining" said Henderson. "Wanda is a stunt kite. She likes to be told what to do and handled roughly or she won't respond. It's a control thing with her."

Beverly Although his kites are beautiful and well made, it seems that once he starts talking about them, people back away slowly; never turning their back on him. "I've always thought Chip's obsession with flying kites was abnormal" said a neighbor who wished to remain anonymous. "I'm always afraid that he's going to stick one of those kites into my back when I'm trying to get the hell away from him. That guy seriously needs a girlfriend or something."

Wanda The neighbors have feared Henderson's strange behavior for quite some time. "It's one thing to enjoy flying kites during the day, but at 2am? C'mon, that's crazy" said another neighbor. "I've always wondered how on earth he could get into a heated argument with his kites the way he does everyday."

Henderson's kite collection is projected to be in the hundreds excluding a list of wind socks and weather vanes he names after famous women from history. The author ran away before Henderson could give the names of all his weather vanes.
